Is water bad for longboards?
As much as possible, try to avoid getting your skateboard wet. Water is bad for the bearings, board, trucks and bolts. Plus, you might have to deal with hydroplaning, which could affect your ability to control the skateboard. So, try not to skate in the rain or through puddles.
Can I longboard when the ground is wet?
If you take everything apart and dry it off afterwards then it’s perfectly fine to ride when it’s wet. You will run the danger of ruining your board if it is delaminated or cracked and water gets into the board. But besides that a lot of people love riding when it’s wet because slides are so much easier.
What to do if it starts raining while skateboarding?
Take off the trucks and dry them with a towel, that should be enough. Trucks can deal with a bit of rain if you make sure to dry them afterward. You might also want to remove the kingpin nut and disassemble your truck completely. This way you can dry places that you normally can’t reach.
