Le Fete de Marquette Festival-A Taste of France!

LaFete2013

2nd Weekend in July (7-13-13)

This is the 2nd summer festival sponsored by the Marquette Neighborhood Association.  This festival is loosely tied to the Storming of the Bastille in France, with an emphasis on New Orleans and French music.  A favorite singer who now has a permanent contract  with this festival is Robin Pluer with Mrs. Fun.  Her singing and music backup are amazing!  Here is a sample of her music, she transports you to Paris, she sings in French also.

Enjoy this song she always sings, “Padam, Padam”

Another favorite is Mama Digdown’s Brass Band, celebrating its 20th year in 2013.  Thy make you feel like part of the second line in their show.  New Orleans musicians even say they are a class act!

There is more than music at this festival. There is also a mini “French Market” with vendors and a vintage Ferris Wheel, proceeds for the Marquette Neighborhood fund. La Fete de Marquette Miller's Market
