University of Wisconsin Botanical Garden

UW Botanical Garden from University Ave

Al and found this garden quite by accident while taking a bike ride on a warm spring day. I have lived here 29 years and never noticed it since this is what it looks like from the street. It does not have a parking lot,  so you have to find somewhere nearby to park, bus, or bike.   The address is 1085 University Ave.

What a beautiful garden, especially since the redbud trees were blooming by then. They have an Eastern Redbud.

Also a Saucer Magnolia to the right of the Gazebo.

They also have a Newton Apple Tree, a descendant of the tree purported to have dropped an apple on Sir Issac Newton’s head, leading to his discovery of gravity.

Here is an exotic Red Crown Imperial from Turkey.

There are many more flowers to see, plus some artwork.

What a nice garden, and one that may not be as well-known as some others in Madison.
