This is another beautiful state rock formation in Southern Wisconsin. Gibraltar Rock towers over the countryside and farms below. It’s located in Columbia County, not far from Lodi in the Town of West Point. Approaching the site is a large tree-covered hill, bright with autumn colors when we went.
We arrive at the small parking lot, it’s a steep hike up so wear suitable footwear.
We began our hike, lots of colors to see on the way up.
We made it, on top was a historic plaque on a rock.
The view was breathtaking!
The Wisconsin River below.
What a great place to visit, make this a stop if you are in the area, and bring your camera!
This was so interesting. I loved the way you framed that one picture with the tree branches. Great photography.
